The Scandinavian Heritage Association began in 1989, to pay tribute to the histories and traditions of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland: the five Scandinavian countries. Essentially a scenic park, it recreates many elements from the "old country," including natural occurences like clear, rippling streams and majestic fjords; and also human constructs like a statue of the great Norweigan skier Casper Oimoen, a statue of Hans Christian Andersen, and a Finnish sauna. The Association lies downtown, just west of Rosehill Cemetery.
